A balanced life. More meaningful relationships. Reconciliation of the past. Relief from trauma and grief.
Individuals seek therapy for a variety of reasons and often only once the decision has been made to live life a little differently.
Jill Dunn has been working with adults, adolescents and couples since 2004 as a licensed therapist in private practice, now serving clients primarily in Raleigh, N.C. Jill enjoys helping clients “untangle” past and present feelings, thought processes, and behaviors that get in the way of personal well-being. Jill works with clients who seek both short and long-term therapy. Jill combines multiple theoretical approaches to create a therapeutic approach uniquely tailored to each clients' specific needs. She relies heavily on the therapeutic relationship and its ability to illuminate the complexities of human behavior patterns and personality as it serves as the gateway to creating internal change.
The therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of contemporary psychodynamic theory and practice. Jill's grounding in psychodynamic therapy works to promote change on a deep structural level and can help clients discover what is getting in the way of personal fulfillment, resolve the effects of trauma, and find self acceptance.
